“On the Markt in Middelburg, bicycles are parked in the wild more and more often. On Friday evenings and Saturday evenings it is often to such an extent that the passage of emergency services is limited or even obstructed. To prevent these dangerous situations, the municipality of Middelburg has decided to take various measures. An innovative measure is the so-called pop-up bicycle system, which works with gobo projectors that indicate with a gobo on the street where bicycles are not allowed.”
“On busy evenings, the pop-up bicycle system will be projected on the corners from Helm and Markt towards Vlasmarkt and on the corner of Pottenmarkt. These places are very important routes for emergency services. Blocking this can have major consequences.”
